USA 0 x 3 Brazil - Fifa Confederations Cup South Africa 2009 Brasil 3 x 0 Estados Unidos EUA
Monday, December 27, 2010
Brazil 3 Usa 0 18 06 2009 Fifa Confederations Cup USA vs Brazil 3-0 Goals Highlights [Confederations Cup 2009] - 18.06.09 www.fifa.com Gols: Felipe Melo, Robinho, Maicon Brazil returned to their brilliant best in Tshwane/Pretoria, cruising to a 3-0 win over USA and inching closer to the semi-finals of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. For the second game running, the Americans had a player sent off and Kaka, Robinho and Co were in no mood to take their foot off the accelerator as they strolled to their second straight win of these finals with goals from Felipe Melo, Robinho and Maicon. Brazil came out flying and, with USA looking overwhelmed in the centre of the pitch, Michael Bradley was forced into a pair of early fouls in dangerous territory. The second proved costly, as Maicon's swerving free kick picked out Felipe Melo. The Fiorentina man slipped his marker and nodded home at the back post with only seven minutes gone. It was an ominous start for the US, who never quite came to grips with their South American opponents, despite some positive work from Landon Donovan. Robinho was only just denied Brazil's second in the 12th minute thanks to a last-ditch lunge by Oguchi Onyewu. However, the big centre-half could do nothing in the 20th minute when a rare moment in attack for the US - their first corner kick of the game - turned into a nightmare. Donovan's short corner rolled under DaMarcus Beasley's boot and straight to a yellow shirt. The counter-attack that followed ...

FIFA World Cup 2010 Quarter Final Match - Brazil Vs Holland
Sunday, September 26, 2010
Yesterday World Cup second round matches had been a fascinating affair. Brazil and Holland emerged victorious in both of their round of 16 matches. Brazil beat Chile 3-0 while Holland beat Slovakia 2-1 in the earlier match. Both teams will meet each other in the quarter final stage of this year FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This should be an intriguing match and will surely attract plenty of attention as both football super power nation face each other. Brazil has won 5 world titles under their belt while Holland has yet to win any. However, Holland can not be under estimated as they have a long tradition of playing exceptionally good football and are capable of beating any team in the world. Their "Total" football philosophy is scintillating and attractive. Brazil is famous for their "Samba" style football that is capable of dominating a match from start to finish. Both teams are very good at holding and keeping possession of the ball making it very difficult for their opponent to beat them.
In yesterday game, Brazil goals scorers were Juan, Luis Fabiano and Robinho. Juan scored Brazil first goal with a header from a corner kick. Follow by Luis Fabiano well taken goal assisted by Kaka. Lastly, Robinho ended Chile misery with the third goals making the score line 3-0 to Brazil. In another match, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder give Holland a two goals advantage before Robert Vittek scored from the penalty spot deep into the injury time. It was a comfortable win 2-1 for the Dutch.
Both teams will clash on 2 of July 2010 for a place in the semi final. The one that come out as a winner will sure be the favorite to reach the final as the opponent in the semi final is either Ghana or Uruguay. Either Brazil or Holland is expected to beat any of the two teams to reach the final of this year tournament.

History of Soccer in Brazil
Friday, September 17, 2010
Image : http://www.flickr.com
History of soccer in Brazil began during the late 19th century when the game of soccer was introduced to the country. Since its introduction, it has never wavered as the nation's top sport of all time. The Brazilians fell in love with the game and the rest is history as they say. During 1888, in the city of Sau Paulo, the very first sports club was formed. It was named as the Sau Paulo Athletics Club and then soccer was thoroughly introduced to people. After some years, 1914 to be exact, the Brazilian Football Confederation was established and soccer became a popular and nationwide sport that displayed fun for the Brazilians.
When one talks of Brazil, one of the most common things that come to mind is soccer. The sea of yellow among the crowd in the World Cup has almost been a constant reminder of Brazil's greatness and historical richness when it comes to the sport. Today's players like Ronaldo, Rivario. Rivaldo and Ronaldinho emerged from the inspirations of their country's all-time greats. Their goal for today is to match the greatness that their predecessors have created throughout the years.
Soccer's impact on Brazil reflected on their culture. The majority of children in Brazil grew up playing with a soccer ball and idolizing soccer superstars from their own backyard. One of these superstars is Pele. Pele is arguably the best soccer player to have ever played the game and the most recognizable soccer figure during his prime and even after it. Pele helped Brazil to win World Cups and soccer definitely put Brazil on the world map. The history of soccer in Brazil summarizes the people's passion, dedication and love for the sport, more than any other country in the world.
