Consider Soccer For Your Children

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Endorphins are the key to happiness and exercise is the key to releasing those endorphins. Normally every child will have access to physical activities such as sports at school but it is vital for their development in order for them to grow healthily and live happily.

As children grow, it is essential for them to have a means of letting out some of their energy, and we all know how much energy a child can contain. They will inevitably choose a favourite sport for themselves but there is no harm in helping them out when they are young and a great one to encourage them into is soccer.

Kids love to play soccer and it has a whole host of benefits for the child physically and mentally, which I intend to cover a little in this article.

A good ability to run and balance well is what will develop from playing soccer since it is a game that focuses on the legs more than anything else. It involves so much running around, moving in different ways that your child will grow and develop healthier muscles in their legs, stomach, and back areas. Soccer also helps to attain good hand eye coordination.

Running around on that field playing soccer will obviously help to strengthen your child's leg muscles. You will notice their muscles becoming stronger more quickly with soccer than with any other sport.

Playing soccer as with any team sport will promote your child's ability to interact socially. They will learn skills such as cooperation and leadership that will carry over into other areas of their lives and make them better at their jobs or at fitting in with new crowds.

In my choice, I would always pick soccer as the game for my kids. It is such an all round sport in that it has many different benefits plus it's a fun game in itself and one your children are certain to enjoy.

A New President, But What Does it Mean For Football?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A week ago today, we witnessed incredible scenes around the world as the first black president was elected in the USA. Me and my colleague were strong supporters of Barack Obama, and naturally we were elated with his election. We see eye to eye with all the issues Obama has put forward, but then I thought to myself one day, what does this election mean for one of the issues I'm passionate about, but I have overlooked? I am of course talking about football. So what does Barack Obama mean for football? I decided to find out. I have been a strong critic of America and their lack of interest in 'real' sports in general. The two most popular sports, football and tennis, have a really low profile in the states, and I was hoping, for football in particular, that Obama could change this.

Obama is apparently a West Ham fan (soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=589743&sec=england&cc=3436) . He went to a match some years ago, and this is the justification the media has used to make him a fan. This visit could have been meaningless, after all it was his British relatives that convinced him to go to the match, but its better than nothing. I don't see Bill Clinton or George W Bush going to premier league matches. Consequently West Ham have sent him a "open invite" to come to one of their matches. I get the feeling he might be too busy at the moment though!

Football fans will be glad that Obama has been elected. While the opposition party had Sarah Palin as the "hockey mom", Obama seems to be a "soccer dad" (blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/07/barack-obamasoc.html). His nine year old daughter plays football, and Obama has been seen to watch some of her games. Great to see young girls getting into the spirit of football and yet another indicator of the President's interest in the greatest game in the world.

More about Obama:

* Obama has a team named after him in his country of ancestry, Kenya.

* He is the American team's choice

* Many believe that due to his popularity and liking for football, the US have a better chance of hosting the 2018 or 2022 World Cups. This is the only thing I'm not happy about, as I am supporting the Australian bid for 2018.

Overall, Obama is looking good for the world game in general.

The World Cup 2010 South Africa Predictions

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The World Cup 2010 is some time off yet, the qualifying campaigns have not started, but is now as good a time as any to get the ball rolling and start predicting the eventual winner in South Africa?

For the first time ever, the worlds premier sporting event will be hosted on the African continent. This will bring a different culture to the forefront of everyone's consciousness even though the tournament itself will take place in Africa's richest economy.

Is there a home advantage? Does this mean that the emerging African nations will fair better than in recent World Cups having been tipped for greatness but always seeming to fall short? Or will it be one from the usual gang of five nations that lifts the Trophy again? Amongst the usual suspects, it will be no surprise to see Brazil or Argentina - the giants of South American football.

From Europe we need look no further than the current champions Italy, the perennial tournament experts Germany, and the flair of France. Or do we? Will England eventually break free from it's overly haranguing press? And, under the stewardship of Italian Fabio Capello, will they finally achieve their country's dreams, after 44 years, of it's one and only World Cup success? Can fellow underachiever Spain put together a concerted run and for once fulfill the talent they generally bring to any world cup?

Following on from these teams, there are also a number of possible winners. If given a run of luck, which any country will need during the tournament, dark horses Croatia are always technically gifted. Sweden, Norway and Russia are solid. Holland will be full of talent. Greece and Turkey have also come a long way, respectively. In truth it is difficult to assess the outcome but my head still tells me it will be one from the usual five. My heart on the other hand hopes it will be England.

Customised Stanno Football Kits - Special Designs to Choose From

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Customising is perhaps one of your concerns as a purchaser. If you are looking for Stanno football kits, you have the option to ask your dealers to provide you with a list of options. Isn't that considered a very lucky purchase? Having your Stanno football kits personalised will make your team look unique amongst other team using this very trusted product.

Stanno football kits are known for providing versatile options to patrons who love playing football. You get your favourite colours for your shirts, pants and jackets. You also get the chance to order accessories that you and the entire team may utilise during the game and during your training. Adding a better option in your list of product considerations are customised or specially-designed goods from the company.

What items do kits customise?

There are different items that Stanno football kits and its dealers accept for customising purposes. You have the licence to order specialised shirts for your football club. Creating your own jersey is very simple. You may ask your teammates' consensus regarding this matter. If one of you has a creative mind and hand, allow that person to make your team's design.

Another product customised by kits is your team socks. Gone are the days when your preference was limited to only one colour. Now, if your team wishes to have more colours in your socks, you may have it customised by the company. Just like with your shirts, you may make your creative mind think of what is best for the team. Of course, you should see to it that it also matches your shirts colours.

What is the process in customising Stanno football kits?

Contacting a local Stanno dealer is the first major step in having your jerseys and socks customised. By doing so, it will be easier for you to present your team's design to these professionals. Additionally, you will also be able to pick-up the items in a shorter period of time than transacting directly with the company. From this, the following steps are also considered:

1. Handing-over of designs to MJP. MJP is a Dutch Design Lab that specialises in customising your football jerseys. This trusted name in the business is responsible in putting your designs to your shirts and socks.

2. Your team sponsors may also have their own part in the jersey. Additionally, the company will consider the essence of your team sponsors in your game. If you wish to include them on your shirts and on your socks, you may do so. Just specify it whilst you order for your customised Stanno football kits.

Customising your Stanno football kits is made easy with the help of these professionals. It is best to go to your local Stanno dealer than to rely in other ways to have your shirts and socks customised. Even if you need to pay a little bit higher with these experts making your Stanno football kits, you are assured of the quality of the product you will get. The price you will pay will speak for the excellence of the output.

Offside Law - When a Soccer Player Cannot Commit an Offside Offence

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Many rules have exceptions. The offside law in soccer conforms to this adage. In the simplest terms, an offside offence is committed when a player in an offside position is involved in active play in one of three ways: interfering with play, interfering with the opponent or gaining an advantage by being in that position. However, there are times when a player who is- or might appear to be- in an offside position can legally play the ball. These times constitute exceptions to the offside law.

It is necessary to understand the definition of the offside position to illustrate the exceptions to the offside offence. According to FIFA's law book (2009-2010), a player is in an offside position when he is "nearer to his opponent's goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent." Fans may be confused when a player who is in an offside position is not penalized. This could be an error by the assistant referee or it could be the legitimate application of the offside law.

* When the attacker in the offside position plays a ball received directly from a goal kick.

FIFA and the IFAB likely designed this exception to avoid teams playing an offside trap on the goal kick. Imagine if this exception was not in place. Opposing teams would push up to the halfway line for every goal kick, making it easy for their opponents to be caught offside. You should not that if the attacker in the offside position is involved in active play from a deflection after a goal kick has been taken, then he commits an offside offence.

* When the attacker receives the ball from a throw-in

Similar to the reasoning for the goal kick, the throw-in exception encourages attacking play.

* When the attacker receives the ball directly from a corner kick

With the corner kick, the exception is even more obvious. The definition of the offside position indicates that the attacker must be closer to the opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent. When the ball is placed on the corner arc, it is assumed to be on the goal line (even if it is not), ruling out the possibility of even being in an offside position.

* When the attacker is in his own half of the field

FIFA and the IFAB recognize the folly of allowing a team to play the offside trap in the opponent's half of the field. As a result, once the attacker is in his own half of the field, the law does not consider him to be in an offside position even.

* When the attacker receives the ball from a deliberate play by the opponent

To commit an offside offence, the attacker must receive the ball from a teammate, whether from a deliberate play or touch. If the attacker, in the offside position, receives the ball from a play by the defender, the offside definition does not define that as an offside offence. However, the play by the opponent must be a controlled or deliberate play in the eyes of the referee- in other words, not a deflection or miss-kick by the opponent after a teammate plays or touches the ball.

* When the attacker's arm is the only part of his body ahead of the second to last opponent

According to the decision of the IFAB, the only parts of an attacker that should be considered as being nearer to the goal line are those with which the attacker can legitimately score a goal. This excludes the hands and arms, but includes every other part of the body, including the knee (or tummy for less active footballers).

The number of exceptions to the offside law and the application of such in certain circumstances can make the offside law one of the trickiest laws of the 17 laws of Association Football.

Indoor and Outdoor Soccer Variations

Monday, June 28, 2010

Though there are many identical skills and strategies used in both indoor and outdoor soccer, there are many differences. When playing on an indoor field, the lines of play are more skewed. Instead of having out-of-bounds called up and down the field, it is only true when the ball is beyond the penalty box. The only play stoppage is for corner balls and goalie kicks/throws. Because of this, many tactics for indoor soccer more closely relate to hockey than outdoor, playing off of the walls instead of strictly to other players.

Indoor fields are much smaller than their outdoor counterparts, often offering a third of the playing space. To play indoor soccer you don't need as many players; having a full field would impede, rather than better play. The ideal team size if 5-6 players. Due to the shrinking field and team size being cut in half, games move much faster. More goals are attempted and scored in indoor than outdoor soccer. It's said that indoor soccer improves goal kicking accuracy.

The transition from outdoor to indoor soccer can be incredibly difficult. Indoor players sprint up and down the field much more than their outdoor counterparts because play is stopped significantly less often. The close quarters of all players on an indoor field requires a lot of one-touch passing, so not only do indoor players become more accurate goal kickers, but all-around players. In indoor soccer your window of time for passing drops significantly. This "only one chance" mentality drives people to be better players.

What Should You Know If You Are Playing Indoor Soccer?

In the last ten years or so, besides traditional (big) soccer that we all love to play and watch, indoor soccer is getting more and more popular, especially with youth. It's usually played indoor on fields with specially made turf. That is why you need soccer shoes made especially for this type of field.

The difference between your traditional cleats and shoes for indoor soccer is that indoor soccer shoes don't have spikes but have a non-marking rubber sole. So, with them you can play on any indoor field without any problem, and even on dry artificial surfaces outdoors. Also, many players of indoor soccer refer to their shoes as flats.

When you are choosing you flat shoes for soccer, the most important thing is that they should be comfortable. You can definitely find one for you, because all major brands like Adidas, Nike or Puma are making shoes for indoor play. You just need to find style and size that suits you most. And remember to always have your soccer socks with you when you are buying your flats. It will help you to find shoes that fit perfectly.

Keep in mind that very important section of every soccer shoes is upper section that will come in contact with the ball. It should be from quality leather, because if not, it won't last for long.

And tip for the end. Never wear a new soccer shoes on the match. Always wear them around the house at least week before the game.

The Nike Soccer Ball and the Difference it Makes

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Nike soccer ball is fast becoming a symbol of the well-loved contact sport. A lot of people in many countries are being swept away by this soccer ball brand. Every time a World Cup season lurks around the corner, people are inspired to kick their Nike balls like there is no tomorrow.

History wise, the soccer ball used to be colored black and white so that audience can easily see and identify the ball on monochrome televisions. At present however, the soccer ball has undergone several changes and improvisations specifically in its external appearance. The Nike soccer ball has been an essential part of such modifications as evidenced by its variety of technology-based beautiful designs and colors.

One of the most frequent sights we see during Word Cup seasons is the presence of soccer enthusiasts kicking Nike balls from one corner to the other. In the past many people did not have the luxury of immediately purchasing soccer balls to play with. But such a problem was addressed by Nike through its installation of vending machines that dispense soccer balls in strategic places. Imagine the difference your twenty dollars can make for a fun filled soccer activity with your friends and loved ones.

Soccer is the most popular sport on earth. For this reason, Nike has flooded the planet with high quality soccer balls. Whether you call the sport soccer, football, "futebol" or "fussball", it doesn't matter. The game can always generate excitement, thrill, and satisfaction. Like music, sports can speak the many languages of people. Thus soccer, being the most popular sport in the world today, will also prevail as the most popular way to promote human understanding.

The World Cup and Letting Go of the Past

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The 18th World Cup was enjoyable. Behind the Olympics, the FIFA World Cup is the second most universal event. The world unites every four year when the Olympics air, while the world divides every four years when the soccer World Cup airs.

It's all about pride, glory, and bragging rights as nations compete in the most universal sport. It can be insulting when people from other countries brag about how their country's team defeated yours! Pride and a love for sport has sparked me to write this as I saw my beloved Australian Socceroos bow out of the World Cup after their best result.

Since the World Cup started in 1930 at Uruguay, Australia qualified for the event in 1974 where they lost every match remaining goalless the entire event. Early in 2006, Australia's streets were empty and there was silence through out the nation as they versed Uruguay for a place in the 2006 World Cup. We qualified for the second time in history after defeating Uruguay in a chair-gripping penalty shoot out. The silence was shattered as every patriot, sport-loving Aussie roared in happiness.

Tim Cahill broke Australia's goalless World Cup history when he scored a double against Japan to lead his country to their first victory in the event. On top of the world, the Socceroos versed Brazil and were defeated 0-2 in what well-known sport commentators referred to as a match Australia outplayed the number one soccer nation. After drawing with Croatia and moving into the second round of the World Cup, Australia faced soccer giants Italy.

The second round match kicked off and remained goalless for 92 minutes. In the 92nd minute and 50th second, with 10 seconds remaining in the game, Italian Fabio Grosso dribbled the ball into the penalty box. Australian Lucas Neill went to the ground as he tried to tackle the Italian, but a second later Fabio tripped (or FELL!) over the Australian defender. The referee, who shall remain nameless to preserve what little safety he has left, awarded the free kick. Francesco Totti then made a lovely penalty shot to qualify Italy into the quarter-finals and to remove every Australian's dream of a World Cup quarter-final birth.

So why have I lectured you on a nation's soccer history you probably care about more than a rat in a sewer?

A few days after experiencing my nation's dramatic soccer loss, I felt hopeless, empty, with a tonne of frustration and anger. I take my international sporting events seriously.

I know I'm being overly expressive about it all, but there are vital life lessons that you need to learn. I was aware of these lessons before experiencing my "soccer outburst" but everyone needs to be frequently reminded of them.

Life, or soccer in my case, gets the better of us most of the time. We let past experiences attach onto our backs and into our minds pulling our current actions and thoughts backwards. Our past experiences hold us back.

What I'm talking about is "letting go" or "moving on". It is often either:

1) A control issue. Something bad happened that negatively affects your life and you desire to influence it. You live in a false sense of hope and control wishing or thinking you could have changed the problem.

2) Overt focus on the problem. The problem persists in your mind causing lingering pain simply because you focus on the problem and it remains until you are able to let it go and move on.

My beloved Socceroos would have faced the control issue. In the last 10 seconds, in what has taken over 76 years to happen, a harsh call was made and they were removed from the competition. 39 972 106 minutes had passed since the Socceroo's last World Cup and the last 10 seconds determined the end result. The last 10 seconds! I'd calculated the time since the first World Cup to the penalty shoot because this is essentially the opportunity the Socceroos have waited for so long to achieve World Cup success.

Whether the call was right or not is beyond my point here. It is a harsh world. I couldn't agree more with "the worst thing, will happen at the worst time". The Socceroos, namely Lucas Neill, would be asking themselves "what if... what if this happened? What if another referee was in the game? What if I had done this?" I guarantee they would have been living in a false sense of control thinking about what they could have done to prevent the loss from occurring by not letting go of history. They are after all, only humans.

I on the other hand, was problem focused. The Socceroos had a superb World Cup and gained the respect as a soccer nation. But no! I complained and whinged for days, unable to move on. Argh! The game was 0-0 until the last 10 seconds! You can learn not only from my focus on the bad result, but also the pain I endured because I did not let go of the past.

Even if you think it's funny because I take the World Cup seriously, try and relate to how you dwell on bad results and don't let go of the past.

There's no way Australia is going into the quarter-finals so why have a little sulk about it? Remember the saying "there's no point crying over spilt milk"? I'm sure you would have heard of the saying before but we let our emotions overpower our logic, dominating our commonsense that history cannot be changed. Heck, I know this well and truly yet Australia bowing out of the World Cup infuriated me for days. We all need to be frequently reminded that history is exactly history. Nothing can be done about the past.

What you do need to take from the past is your experiences to learn. It would be foolish to make a mistake, endure the pain, and learn nothing from it to prevent the same problem from occurring again. I'm sure the Socceroos and all other soccer nations have learned from their World Cup experience.

What you don't need to take from the past is disempowering feelings and thoughts because you have not let go. An example is not forgiving someone for the pain they've caused you. You are willing to cling onto the unhappiness and pain of a past problem by not forgiving the person that hurt you.

You live in truth and happiness by accepting what you can currently control through living in the present and letting go of the past. Nothing good happens with an unhealthy bondage to past negative events. Learn how to forgive someone and you free yourself from emotional pain.

It's time to let go of the past that's been holding you back from living a full and happy life. It's called "the past" because it is suppose to be in the past. Don't be afraid or lazy to comeback and read this as you're guaranteed to let your emotions dominate your logic and let the past control your happiness again and again. Let go of the past and live in happiness.

I'm now happy for Italy and congratulate them in qualifying for the quarter-finals. The worst possible call from an Aussie's point of view was made at the worst time. The Socceroos didn't make it and I accept that. Well done Italy.

Throwback Jersey - NFL

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Throwback Jersey was first introduced in the NFL in the 1994 75th anniversary season and continue to be popular with both fans and teams. A wide variety of throwback designs have been worn in the NFL, with varying degrees of accuracy. Most obvious is the lack of leather helmets in the 50s uniforms. The best the league could do was wear their hard versions sans logos. More historical license is the displaying of player names on the throwback jersey. Player names on the uniform was first introduced to the NFL with the AFC merger in 1970. But the NFL requires names on all throwbacks per contemporary rules.

Some teams having had success in their old time uniforms, continue to wear them for the remainder of the season. In fact the San Francisco 49ers wore their their lucky retro uni's all the way into the 1994/1995 season playoffs. Steve Young and crew even wore that 1955 version in their 49-26 Super Bowl XXIX victory over the the San Diego Chargers. The Niners will go back to the successful retro look for the 2009 season as well.

Autographed retros are also quite popular among the sports collectible crowd. An authentic signature can take a $125 jersey and multiply it's value by 400% or more. The mother of all collectible throwbacks is the game worn autographed jersey. These gems go for $800 or more. When buying a collectible, buy from reputable sellers and get A Certificate of Authenticity. You can also find throwbacks that are officially licensed by the National Football League and come with individually numbered; tamper evident holograms. There are many fraudulent products for sale, so buyer beware.

Throwback jerseys make a return for the 2009 NFL season. This is the to pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the AFL, the American Football League. Sixteen AFL Legacy Games will be played featuring the eight original members of the AFL. The list includes the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (played as Dallas Texans), New England Patriots (played as the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (played as the Titans of New York), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans (played as the Houston Oilers).

With a throwback jersey you can keep alive those NFL memories of old. Relive that Superbowl win every time you don your team's colors. In a word, REPRESENT.

Here are some of the perennial best selling Throwback Jerseys:

Walter Payton- Chicago Bears
Ray Nitschke- Green Bay Packers
Joe Namath- Ney York Jets
Joe Montana- San Francisco 49ers
Ken Stabler- Oakland Raiders
Troy Aikman- Dallas Cowboys
Mark Bavaro- New York Giants
Johnny Unitas- Baltimore Colts
Marion Barber- Dallas Cowboys
Steve Young- San Francisco 49ers
Is your favorite throwback jersey on the list?

Get ready for some unique fashion statement at the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa for the first time. It won't just be your favorite players in their World Cup soccer jerseys vying for your attention! Soccer World Cup fans are all set to up the temperature with their traditional vuvuzelas - those trumpets that sound like busy bumbling bees every time the ball enters the net!

A hat for every head

You can expect vuvuzelas to mingle with makarabas making for a complete riot of sound and color! Makaraba hats were first worn in South Africa in the 70s as protection against bottles or other flying objects! Later, all kinds of designs and add-ons were fixed onto these hard builder hats making them a must have fashion statement. They've become so popular that no hard core football fan can be seen without one! Makarabas representing the participating teams in the 2010 World Cup are being designed on a war footing. Each hat is painstakingly prepared by hand and cut into a unique shape and design, so it takes anywhere between 8 to 14 hours to make one! These colorful works of art make for great souvenirs of the much awaited World Cup.

Soccer Sells!

Besides this, there are all kinds of merchandise you can pick up to declare your loyalty for your team from custom-made soccer apparel to watches, mugs, scarves, wallets, bedspreads and DVDs. And you can find something to suit your pocket. Replica team jerseys are probably the most common and popular choice with fans. After all, nothing beats wearing your team colors during a match while you're at the stadium in front of the TV! It's a heady experience of loyalty, pride and togetherness.

Sports Collection

Puma made sure it wasn't left behind in this football frenzy! It joined hands with fashion expert Neil Barrett to launch an athletic lifestyle collection that covers everything from hooded sweatshirts to tees, cargoes to blouson jackets. The focus is on functional fibers, distressed washes and embellished applications giving it a fashionable yet comfortable look. Barrett, a giant in the fashion industry with names like Prada and Gucci under his belt, was inspired by the protective armor worn by Roman gladiators! He added his own layered signature to it. And voila!

Beckham Mayhem

Britain's star player David Beckham has made soccer super fashionable! It's no longer just about the game; it's about cash rich sponsorships, global sports brands and celebrity endorsements. LA Galaxy roped in Beckham to wear their new soccer shirt making it the fastest selling shirt ever! More than a quarter million were ordered even before the design was revealed thanks to Becks! The home shirt is similar to Real Madrid's, while the away shirt comes in a three dimensional design in navy blue with hints of yellow. The good thing is this soccer shirt has been designed to be worn outside the stadium as well.

With so much going on in the world of soccer fashion, the choices are plenty and increasing by the day. So, take your pick and make your own style statement!

Predicting the World Cup 2010 Winner

What does predicting the economy got to do with predicting the World Cup winner? A lot if you listen to Swiss Bank UBS.

In the World Cup 2006, the economists and analysts at the Wealth Management Research at UBS used the statistical model that enabled them to predict market trends and investment decisions and applied it to predict the World Cup winner.

They correctly predicted that Italy would be the champion. They also succeeded in getting six of the eight quarter-finalists correct. Their track record also included correctly forecasting three of the four semi-finalists.

UBS's model is a purely quantitative analysis and the criteria used are past performance, home advantage and teams' strength. Now let's discuss the model:

For past performance, so far seven nations have won the championship. (Brazil five times, Italy four times, Germany three times, Argentina and Uruguay two times, France and England one time each). So according to UBS, if you pick one of these seven teams, it appears to be a safe bet.

As for the home advantage, a third of the past world cups was won by the host country. Now:

# The weather is mild winter in South Africa and it appears that the host nation may not have the climate advantage. This applies similarly to the African nations in the finals.

# Some matches will be played at venues at high altitude. This is a clear advantage to the host and the South American teams like Brazil.

# In every tournament, there is speculation of referees favoring the Home team. Will there be many controversial calls helping the host?

# This being Africa's World Cup, there are many who wonder if an African nation will advance past the group stage into the quarter-finals for the first time. In every tournament, there will always be a team which will be the surprise package. Will this team come from Africa?

# And lastly, there is this "outside-of-Europe" syndrome. So far every World Cup had been won by either an European team or a South American side. No European team has won outside the comfort of their own continent. Now in South Africa, many pundits believe that the South American teams will have so-called ground advantage.

Regarding the strength of the teams, UBS took into consideration the FIFA ranking and the bookmakers' odds.

So which team has UBS picked to be WC 2010 champion? Brazil.

Well, your guess is as good as mine on which team will win. My trusted crystal ball tells me it is Spain.

In every World Cup, betting wise, it is a true challenge. The tournament is held every four years and qualification ends months before the ball is kicked in the first game of the finals. During this time, a lot can change in the football world.

World Cup means patriotic fervor comes into play. We all have passionate feelings for a certain team or a certain player which will determine our decision.

There are 32 teams in the finals so technically there are 32 potential winners. It is interesting to note some characteristics of these teams:

* Some teams have a good striking department with tons of firepower, but lacking everywhere else.

* Some teams have great talented players but have insane coaches.

* Some are perceived as perennial underachievers like Spain and England who seem to choke on the big stage.

* Some are tournament teams like Germany and Italy who may be underrated before the finals, but know how to grind out the results. Well this is according to past performances.

* Experts have expected Spain to win the last two World Cups - but they never have.

* England are going to win it every time according to the English - but they never do.

And there are some interesting statistics:

# No team has successfully defended the WC for a long while. Would the 2006 winner Italy be the exception? But Italy has an aging squad and may not be expected to last all the way. It is easier to reach the top, but much harder to stay there!

# Only once in the last 21 group games has the WC host lost, so would South Africa be the surprise package?

Why Spain will Win

With one loss in their last 46 matches, Spain arrived at South Africa as one of the best teams. They are the favorites to lift the World Cup on July 11. They are ahead of Brazil in the eyes of the bookmakers and pundits.

Spain (Rank 1) play in Group H against Chile (Rank 17), Switzerland (Rank 18) and Honduras (Rank 38).

They have been dubbed by the media in the past as "perennial underachiever". But the faith of their fans may be justified this time as they have completely turned the corner after winning Euro 2008. They had built on this success and thereafter had won all of their qualifying games for WC 2010, the first team to achieve such a record.

The Talents

Spain is a team with polished gems. They boast the talents of Fernando Torres and David Villa up front, Xavi and Andres Iniesta, Xabi Alonso and Cesc Fabregas in the middle, Carles Puyol and Gerrard Pique at the back, and Iker Casillas in goal. The reigning European champion look a formidable bunch.

They are stacked with players from the elite leagues in Europe like Barcelona and Real Madrid. The squad has so much depth that even the impressive Arsenal captain Fabregas, whom many consider as one of the best midfielders around, has to warm the bench as a substitute.

A well balanced team is needed to have the consistency to get through such a high level tournament. Look at Argentina. The hope of the entire nation rests on the shoulders of young Messi. But Messi does not perform for his country like he does for Barcelona because he does not have the midfield marshals like Xavi and Iniesta behind him to pull the strings. And I shall leave the Argentina manager alone.

The Spanish squad has been largely unchanged from the team that won Euro 2008. Playing together for years can only foster better understanding on the pitch. The Spain of today exude calm and confidence. Wearing the European crown does such things to you.

Injury

Of course injury is a concern but this is the same for every team. Torres and Fabregas missed playing the tail end of the league due to injuries. To look on the bright side, this could actually be a blessing in disguise as they are totally rested for the World Cup.

Spain has a deep squad with comparatively able replacements. They are not a one or two men team like Ivory Coast relying on Drogba.

If injuries are inflicted on play-makers, any team will suffer like Rooney for England, Lucio and Kaka for Brazil, Messi for Argentina, Sneijder for Holland, etc. Serious injuries are a disaster for every team.

Pressure

Being ranked No. 1 and as hot favorites, expectations are high. Will Spain crack under the pressure?

Much was made out of their 2-0 defeat in the Confederations Cup semi-final to USA last June. This ended their 35 match streak without a loss. Some said Spain buckled under the pressure in that match because they wanted so much to break Brazil's 35 match streak of not suffering a loss. To many this is considered a great weakness to cave in to pressure.

A lot of teams lose matches that they should win. Most important is to learn a lesson from the loss. I believe the Spanish had indeed learned a valuable lesson. From then on, they had not lost again.

Mental Strength

Psychologists often stress that half of the battle is won in the head. Unfortunately, Spain have the unwanted tag of perennial choker on the big stage. In the past when the going gets tough, they have gone missing.

But now all the players pledged that they know their biggest enemy is themselves and they have developed greater self belief.

Complacency

There is a great threat of complacency when facing the likes of Honduras, Chile and Switzerland. I am confident that with an experienced coach in del Bosque, the players will know in no uncertain terms that a place in the second round is not a formality.

Assurance and over-confidence is divided by a very fine line. The last thing they will think is they have already won the match even before the ball is kicked.

How To Beat Spain

Some said the way to beat Spain is to follow the tactics of Jose Mourinho whose Inter Milan succeeded where virtually everybody failed by knocking Barcelona out of the Champions League. The tactic is to have the players defend deep in their own half, soaking up the pressure thrown at them and rely on swift counter-attack to score. Well, I am not sure whether there could be another "Special One' around.

Conclusion

If Spain keep their heads they will win World Cup 2010. If they don't, they are simply beaten by themselves.

Should You Eat Before Working Out?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Trying to figure out whether you should eat before, during, or after you workout pretty much boils down to your personal preference. Some people cannot tolerate working out with food on their stomach so these people may opt for an after workout meal. Basically just listen to your body because it will tell you what it likes, dislikes, and need. I can start my day with 16 oz of water, and about half and hour later I will drink 16 oz of a grapefruit - orange juice blend. It doesn't take liquids very long to digest and I generally feel energized and strong enough to get through a one hour workout without pooping out before its over.

If you feel winded and can barely get through a 30 minute workout, chances are its been a while before your last snack or meal. For example, if your last meal was at 8pm and you decided to workout the next morning at 8am, that's a 12 hour stretch since you've had anything to eat. If you choose to workout in the mornings, make sure you eat something within 45 minutes of your bedtime so you will have enough fuel to get you through your morning or afternoon workout. The best foods to eat before bedtime include any fruit, vegetable, protein or whole grain. This food will help replenish your glycogen stores and prepare your body before you workout the next morning.

For those who choose to eat before you workout, make sure it's a light snack like a small bowl of cereal. The protein in the milk will help build muscle and bone, and as an added bonus, block fat storage. If endurance is the goal of your workout, milk is a great addition to your morning snack. Wait about an 1 1/2 to 2 hours before you workout to give the food a chance to digest otherwise you might get nauseous by working out with food in your stomach.

Keep in mind that everyone responses differently to eating before a workout. If you are not sure how your body will react, I recommend that you experiment with juices, smoothies, or protein shakes before you try solid foods. Another alternative is to eat after exercise. If you decide to have a post-workout meal, make sure you combine carbs with protein to replenish everything that was lost during the workout. Eggs, bacon or ham are excellent sources of protein with a slice of whole grain toast and a tall glass of chocolate milk. The milk will also help reduce lactic acid buildup to combat soreness after you workout.

The Basic Rules of Soccer

Image : http://www.flickr.com

It is crucial to understand that rules in soccer are really decisions taken by the IFAB under relevant laws of the game. There are really basic laws of soccer- 17 of them. To get a good idea of soccer, one only needs to peruse a few fundamental laws of the game.

The soccer field must be rectangular, between 45 and 90 metres in width and between 90 and 120 metres in length. It has designated markings that denote certain areas such as the corners, penalty area and goal area. A soccer field must be properly marked in order for a match to occur.

Association soccer must be played with approved soccer balls. These balls should have a certain pressure, weight and size. For FIFA sanctioned tournaments, the balls will have a prescribed logo. Association soccer matches must begin with a minimum of seven players and a maximum of 11. These players must be outfitted in certain gear- stockings, shinguards, footwear, a jersey and shorts.

A soccer match has two equal periods of 45 minutes each. Changes to these must be sanctioned by tournament rules or provisions. Each half of a soccer match is started with a kick-off. The kick-off is also used to restart play after a goal has been scored. When the ball goes out of play, the match is restarted by a throw-in (out over the touch lines), a goal kick or corner (out over the goal lines).

For a goal to be scored in soccer, the entire ball must cross the goal line between the uprights and under the crossbar, whether in the air or on the ground. For a goal to stand, no infringement should have been committed by the team scoring the goal.

The Offside Law is a major feature of soccer. It is an offside offence to be involved in active play if at the moment the pall is played by a teammate you were in an offside position. This definition assumes that the passing and involvement occurs in the same phase of play. The phases of play change when the ball is touched or controlled.

There are prescribed fouls and misconduct in soccer. The difference is that a foul is committed when the ball is in play, by a player and on the field of play. Fouls and misconduct carry different penalties. They can result in free kicks or players or substitutes being cautioned or sent off. Misconduct applies to team officials as well.

The rest of the laws cover the kicks from certain areas that are taken during the game. This is a very brief overview of the basic, however. Each law is in depth and takes much time and effort to learn and apply. However, if you have an idea of these laws, you can consider yourself a true soccer (really football) fan.

Booking Disney Dining Isn't Always Easy

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Think that booking Disney dining is an easy task? You are sadly mistaken depending on what you're looking for and the time frame in which you book. Most guests think that all there is to booking is either a click of a button with their mouse or a touch of a few buttons on the phone dial pad. Well, there's a lot more to it than that. There's planning your reservations, working your dining schedule into your vacation and actually trying to get the time, place and date of the reservation you want. It may not be an easy task, but there are some things you can do when booking to make the process go smoother.

It takes a lot of planning when it comes to booking Disney dining locations. You have to remember that there are thousands of other guests who want the same reservations that you want in your time frame. Those other guests may be a lot savvier and are also planning to the "t". They are documenting the times they are planning to dine, how long they plan to dine and most importantly, where they want to dine. Some of the popular dining locations can be extremely hard to get into depending on the time of the year. Character dining, signature dining and dinner shows are among the most popular so you'll want to be sure to book 180 days out. When you plan your dining times along with where you want to dine can mean the difference of you getting a reservation or being on the outside looking in. Early reservations tend to be the first ones to go as supposed to the later ones. If possible, try booking a bit later. This goes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many openings are available for later times and if you can't get that early reservation you want, it may be your best bet.

Location is important when it comes to booking Disney dining restaurants. Guest tend to stress a bit when it comes to this point, but there's really no need to get twisted about it. First, just make sure that you find a restaurant that will benefit the entire family. If you're not sure, you can either jump on the Disney website and look for information or simply Google the restaurant and tons of information will come up. You may also want to have some backup restaurants in mind. Depending on where you're looking to dine, it could be a possibility that the dining location you want may be booked. Keeping your options open will you save you a lot of time and frustration.

Receiving and Maintaining Possession of the Soccer Ball - Article 3

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Receiving the ball (also commonly referred to as "trapping the ball"). In this article, the term receiving and trapping will be used interchangeably. This is one of the most elementary skills necessary in control ball soccer, yet it is not used effectively enough in competitive games in much of North American Soccer, especially with young players. The reason is simple enough to observe. There is a fear of losing the ball to a nearby opponent: The ball may potentially end up between the receiver and the opponent-possibly causing a receiving error. Losing the ball to the opponent in this manner normally results in embarrassment or chastisement from the coach. The end result is that players "one touch" the ball much more frequently then is necessary and consequently produce a reduced amount ball control by the team in general. It must always be remembered that ball control is the objective in modern soccer.

How then can the player apply this receiving skill more frequently in games to control the ball? With a little proper training, practice and encouragement, a player can learn to control the ball to become a more valuable asset to the team as the season progresses. A team that does not practice ball control is confined to playing low-level soccer and the players will always be restricted to playing a type of soccer known as kickball. Their future in this sport is limited when competing against players that can effectively receive and control the ball in competitive situations. Players that master this technique however, develop self-confidence and often a passion to continue in this sport.

A method exists that makes receiving and controlling the ball relatively easy, yet it is infrequently used in non-professional soccer (and sometimes not enough in professional soccer) but it is always used effectively in basketball. This controlling technique is known as shielding in soccer. Applying two moves, one following the other, makes it: These moves are called trapping and shielding or receiving and shielding. The main type of receiving taught in practice is with the inside-of-the-foot--for ground balls.

There are, of course, many other parts of the body that are used for trapping when the inside-of-the-foot is just not practical, but this foot location method is probably the easiest receiving method to master and so it is best mated with subsequent shielding moves. The inside-of-the-foot is a useful receiving method for teaching the combination of capturing the ball and shielding it from a nearby opponent. Once a player is confident with this type of trap used in conjunction with shielding, other types of traps can replace the inside-of-the-foot trap as necessary.

Good soccer players control the ball even when under the pressure of an opponent. In Practice, receiving the ball is a relatively easy task to complete correctly when the approaching ball is slowly rolling on the ground towards the receiving player. This is the general approach taken when teaching this technique. However, in actual game situations, the conditions are different. Most of the time there is an opponent in the vicinity of a player about to receive a loose ball or pass. Even if the ball is slowly rolling towards the receiver in game conditions, it is still a difficult task to trap the ball, control it and move out into a position of advantage--when there is an opponent bearing down on the receiver. Making matters worse, the ball may be coming in fast, high and possibly from a great distance. No matter how the ball approaches, a good soccer player has developed the ability to receive and control the ball. How is this taught to players without this skill?

Trapping and shielding is a combination technique accomplished by instructing players on shielding the ball after placing it under control near the feet. The shielding is a tandem technique that follows immediately after the receiving player approaches the incoming ball, stops an instant before receiving it, and then traps the ball--which has now practically stopped near his or her foot. Note: It is very difficult to receive and control the ball while running and so trapping while running is only recommended for experienced players: See footnote1.

To be legal, a player must have control of the ball in order to screen it from an opponent; therefore, once the player successfully controls the ball, he or she immediately turns his or her body to place it between the ball and the opponent. The body can also be arched backwards (towards the opponent) to further protect the ball as long as the receiver is not aggressively contacting the opponent. In this manner, the opponent will be out of reach of the ball and will be behind the receiver who must now dribble the ball away from the opponent. If the opponent goes to the dribbler's right, the dribbler rotates himself or herself counterclockwise along with the ball, thus the ball screening is continued. The opposite move is applied if the opponent goes to the dribbler's left.

With possession of the ball, the dribbler must move into open space. Now, if the dribbler cannot move forwards with the ball (in the direction of the opponent's goal), the option is to either move across the field or backwards towards his or her own goal. Note: Players must be instructed that going forward is not always practical or safe and moving in another direction is perfectly sound as long as he or she maintains control of the ball and moves away into new unoccupied field locations. In doing so, the next move is to either pass the ball to a nearby open player or to turn while shielding with the ball. The latter tactic is more advanced and beyond the scope of this article.

For more advanced players, the same technique can be performed with other receiving methods, such as collecting the ball with different parts of the foot, parts of the leg, the body and head traps. But for the introduction of this technique (as mentioned above), the inside-of-the-foot method works best. Once the players have grasped the technique, it will be expected that they will employ it first in scrimmage games then in actual competition. Note: The coach is reminded to encourage receiving and shielding under the pressure of actual games. Allowing the players to experiment with this technique, while making errors, is not to be discouraged.

There are various drills that efficiently teach receiving and shielding, both elementary and more advanced. The basic techniques are simple and effective and most drill techniques are further incorporated with teaching the receiver to 1. Move to the moving ball, i.e., a player must never wait for it to come to him or her. See footnote 2. 2. Trap the ball. 3. Shield the ball. 4. Move to a position of advantage on the field. These semi-advanced techniques are all performed with an opponent applying various degrees of pressure, and of course receiving may employ other parts of the body for initially contacting and receiving the ball. These drills may be found in books by the author [http://www.albertmluongo.com].

Footnotes:

1. A word must be said here about the level of skills in a soccer player's career. The information described above is recommended for the early to mid stages of soccer players' training. Only the most experienced soccer players should attempt trapping the ball while on the run.

Also, the ideal player's performance would be to have an "escape" plan before receiving the ball, i.e., plan to seek out the best open space to dribble into upon gaining control of the ball. Young players often begin to think of their next move only after receiving the ball and should be reminded often to think ahead before receiving it.

2. At the highest level of play, professional players are often seen standing waiting for the ball to come to them. This is not recommended for young players to emulate. It is always best to meet the oncoming ball.

Florida Water Parks

Seaworld

When visiting Orlando and particularly the theme parks, it is strongly advisable to start with SeaWorld Adventure Park, as its stadium style shows ensure short queues under the heat. The park features sea lion, dolphin and orca shows, which run at particular times; therefore it is also good to plan in advance the day with the help of a show schedule.

Discovery Cove

Discovery cove is not the typical park in Florida, it is more about interacting with nature and animals. People have the chance to swim with dolphins, learn about exotic birds, tropical fishes and land mammals, explore artificial coves. Situated just opposite to SeaWorld, there are no roller coasters and all people need is swimming suits and snorkels for the day.

Wet 'N Wild

Considered America's best water park, Wet'N Wild has attractions for the entire family. It was also given the first Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Waterpark Association thanks to its high quality service and world-class thrill rides, which ensure a full-day of fun. It is run by Universal Studios Recreational Group since 1998 and it is strategically located on International drive.

Messi Becomes Barca's Highest Paid Player

Barca's president, Joan Laporta, was thrilled to make the deal official, "Leo should be the highest paid player in the squad. He deserves it. He's the best player in the world and one of the best in football history. He's content and that's why he's playing the way he is". Leo joined Barca as a youth team player back in 2001 during which he won a host of trophies. He also played a leading role in the club's recent unprecedented title treble - the Primera Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League. Scoring 38 goals in the three competitions, and helping with 16 assists, Messi is now a popular choice to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo as FIFA World Player of the Year this December.

The striker's contract with Barca was to expire in 2014, but he signed a new one that keeps him with the club until 2016, which will probably be the best years in his career. Ending all speculation, Leo claimed, "I want to spend all my career here, in Barcelona, if it's possible. I would love to finish at Barcelona. This contract is a result of everything that happened last year and of what I have done since coming into the first team. I am simply one more person in this spectacular group of players, where there is a team that is very nice, very united and in which I am simply part of continuing to win things". According to the new deal, Messi's release clause increases from 150million Euros to 250million Euros.

Laporta declared, "This is the best news Barca can receive today. It is important to have a player with his human qualities and his football ability. This deal recognizes all that he gives to Barcelona. It is impossible to imagine the team without a player like Messi. We expect Leo to retire here with Barca." This announcement was expected for some time now and coach Pep Guardiola joined in to express his delight, "It's an immense piece of news for the club and for the player that Messi is renewing his contract, as it also was when Victor Valdes and Xavi did so. People go to football to see the best and that's what they are. It's a privilege for Barca to have some of the best footballers like Messi."

Next on the club president's list is captain Carles Puyol, whose services he also hopes to retain at Camp Nou. There have been rumors that the captain is not too happy ever since Barca acquired Ukrainian defender, Dmytro Chygrynskiy. Laporta asserted, "I am convinced that Puyol is keen to end his career at Barca. But I also understand that a player of his age examines the possibility of having an experience outside of Spain." Let's see how the cookie crumbles over the next couple of months.

Popular Online Casino Games

There are many people who are interested to play the casino games. Some of them are aware of the games they like whereas others are fond of playing the online games that they can avail in a casino they find. In this article you will learn about the various type of casino games that are commonly played in casinos.

As you already know, not all people have the same taste. So you can find different type of games just installed to appeal the taste of every visitor.

First of all I will categorize the online casino games according to their popularity:

The First Favorite
Blackjack - This is a serious card game, mostly played by people who are interested in playing with their minds. However let me give you a brief idea about how the game is played.

When you begin to play blackjack, your target will be to win this game by making a hand worth 21 points. A hand that counts 21 is a sure shot blackjack. But remember, if you exceed 21 then you loose, generally known as busting. Face cards like Jacks, Queens and Kings will be counted as 10. But the naughty Ace will sometimes act as 11 and sometimes 1, depending on the hand.

The Second Favorite
Poker - To play poker you need to understand the value of the cards and the various hands. But as a beginner let me tell you how the cards are valued. The highest valued card in poker is Ace and then comes the rest in descending order like King, Queen, Jack, 10, and so on to 2. Other than the face cards all the rest are counted on the basis of their face value. But all the suits are of same value. For example, a 2 of spades is equal to a 2 of hearts. The game has multiple variations and almost all the variations of poker are equally famous.

The Third Favorite
Slots - To play and win this game you don't have to be an extra intelligent person. Most of the time it is treated as one of the fun games. You can play it in both online casinos as well as terrestrial casinos. To play it, all you have to do is pull the handle located at the side of the machine and wait for the machine to display the result. If the images in the rows are all identical then you win a jackpot. If you still cannot understand how to identify a jackpot, then don't worry about it. The lightings and the music will tell you all. Amongst all the casino games, slots are known to generate maximum revenue for all casinos.

The Fourth Favorite
Roulette - This is another lively game, mostly played by people who just want to spend some time relaxing and refreshing. The roulette wheel is generally crowded, where a ball is rolled in after spinning the roulette wheel. This wheel is divided into either 37 or 38 sections, sometimes including a single zero and sometimes including double zeros. The croupier announces the winning number by placing a dolly. Though it is a noisy game, still it is enjoyed by each player.

These are just few casino games that I have listed on the basis of their popularity. However, there are many such games that might be your favorite.

Thursday MLB Betting on MLB Network - Florida Marlins and Phillies

Friday, June 25, 2010

The NL East is presented in Thursday MLB wagering when the Philadelphia Phillies host the Marlins in a match which can be seen on the MLB Network.

It is the finale of a three-game series in baseball wagering and it's the final match of a 7-game homestand for the Phillies.

Mostly considering they're at home, MLB wagering probabilities like the Phillies in this match. The pitching matchup may end up preferring Florida. Anibal Sancehz is scheduled to be on Thursday for Florida. He is 5-3 for the season with a 3.18 ERA. Until his previous start against the Mets when he allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings, Sanchez was rolling along. He had won his four previous starts.

The Marlins have held their own recently against the Phillies in MLB wagering. They had won 11 of the previous 20 against Philadelphia before this series started. They claimed two of three at Philadelphia earlier this season. The Phillies are one of those teams in baseball which could play just as nicely on the road as at home so they can be overvalued at home. The previous five meetings between the two teams had gone under the total before this series started.

It can be difficult to forecast what the Marlins are going to do on a nightly basis. They were up and down this year. They do play much better at home than on the road but it isn't a major difference. The Marlins are only average in hitting and in ERA. They are able to be excellent however with players like Hanley Ramirez striking the ball and Josh Johnson pitching. Even Sanchez has shown the capability to be quite great.

Philadelphia has been much better at home this year than for the road, but not by much. The Phillies have inexplicably struggled to gain runs. Jimmy Rollins has been from the lineup for most of the season and his absence has damaged the Phillies, however they otherwise have a powerful lineup. The Phillies have gotten good pitching as they're in the top five in the league. Jamie Moyer has been strong generally speaking this year, and it might be him gaining the start in this match.

The Phillies' Roy Halladay pitched a perfect match two weeks once more against the Marlins, throwing the 20th perfect match in the majors. Halladay already has a Cy Young Award and six All-Star match choices to his credit. He threw just the eighth perfect game in the National League's history, and just the second for the Philadelphia Phillies. He struck out 11 of the Marlins' players and outshined the Marlins' pitcher, Josh Johnson, in the process. It directed Johnson to say later that it was unreal how Halladay does his thing. "No messing around, no joking around. He's there for one reason." That match went 1-0 for the Phillies.

Wednesday night's match was delayed as a result of rain and will be compensated for on Monday, September 6, when the Phillies and the Marlins play a double header.

All About a Powerball Lottery Jackpot

A Powerball lottery jackpot is something most people would love to win. When a percentage of these lotteries drawn are not won because no one has the winning combination of numbers, the amount is rolled over to the next game and this may go on over a number of weeks. The jackpot prize may end up doubling, then trebling and so on till it is in the millions of dollars.

Then someone will come up with the winning numbers and find themselves on top of the world, probably planning all sorts of things. Sometimes there is more than one winner and the first prize is shared between those that had the winning tickets.

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to win the lottery. If you have then you know the first thing you need to do is get your ticket in.

To play the lottery, or lotto, five numbers need to be picked, then there is an additional number called the powerball. When a game is played and this powerball number comes up along with the five others in the winning combination of a draw, then the jackpot has been won. When picking the additional number this is taken from a new set of numbers which are different from the first. The extra number is played in a numbers grid which is not included in the grid with the five numbers.

There are numerous states which run a powerball and these games mostly have a five number pick then the additional number, some have extra prizes for an extra number depending on where one chooses to enter.

Lottery is a game of chance and plenty of luck but there is a saying that goes, if you are not in it, you cannot win it. It is an individuals choice if they enter or not and it can also become a problem for some as it is a gambling game, so one really needs a clear indication of how much they plan to spend on a ticket and how much not to. This might help keep it from becoming a gambling problem.
