Soccer Field Dimensions

Soccer field dimensions are just simply irregular during the early years of soccer. This in return caused difficulties for the soccer players. Back then, there were no definitive dimensions that could really be called as standard sizes. So, as soccer developed over the years, the dimensions were regulated by the Football Association which was the very first organization of soccer in history. This was implemented during the late 19th century and now taken into consideration by the FIFA.

The dimensions of the soccer fields of today still have improvement with regards to the uniformity of all pitches that do not really have the exact same perimeter. The field's width can range from about 50 to 100 yards. The length on the other hand can range from 100 yards to about 130 yards. But technically, it is not allowed to have a 100 by 100 field because it would look like a square and it would become unfit for a soccer game.

There is a center line in the middle of the field. The distance of this line should be equal for both ends of the soccer field. There is also circle surrounding the center of this line that sizes up to 10 yards in its diameter. The circle acts as sort of like the insurance policy that the opposing players are far away enough when the other team sets to kick off.

These soccer field dimensions make the game of soccer much more exciting and much more challenging. The importance of its size helps dictate the requirement of being fit to play in such a large field.
